Leicester Wildecats - 5 October 2014 (Away)

A pair of soft goals for the hosts and a disallowed one for ourselves meant that we've been left to concentrate on the league after being knocked out of the GFSN Cup at the first time of asking.

Despite a strong performance in the West Riding Flexi League the previous Thursday, that didn't continue into Sunday's match, with the first half being lacklustre at best. The best chances fell to Leicester, but they fluffed their lines or were thwarted by Liam A in nets.

There were more opportunities in the second half as both teams looked for a winner to stave off the possibility of extra time, but it was the home team who took the initiative after a defensive mix-up near the halfway line let Leicester through on goal to squeeze the ball inside the post after rounding the keeper.

Terriers pressed for an equaliser after making a number of changes and we thought we had it when Matt B headed in from a Dom B cross, but the referee saw a push in the back and disallowed the goal.

It proved a crucial decision too, as soon after, Leicester clinched their place in the next round. Replacement keeper Rob D made a great reaction save to deny the initial shot from a corner, but the striker was quickest to the loose ball to fire it high into the net and send the hosts through.

The Man of the Match vote went in Matt B's favour for tireless work up front and to mark his disallowed goal.
